Welcome
The official bit
I'm Lucy Davies. I'm a business coach, though if you ask me at a party I'll usually say "I help women stop running their business like they're keeping 27 plates spinning while also being someone's mum, someone's daughter, and the only person who knows where the school PE kit is." It gets more of a laugh, and it isn't far off. That's why I also call myself 'Chief Wobble Fixer'. 😆
The plates, explained
Here's the thing about plate spinning, as an actual circus act. Nobody watching is worried about the plates that are spinning nicely. Everyone's eyes go straight to the one that's started to wobble, because everyone in the audience knows exactly what happens next. That's basically my job. I watch business owners spin an impressive number of plates and I go looking for the wobble before it becomes a smash. Usually it isn't the plate they're panicking about. It's the one just behind it that they haven't clocked yet.
The "spaghetti situation"
One of my clients, Rachel, describes what I do as "unravelling the spaghetti in her head". Which, if you've ever stood over a pan wondering how it got this tangled when you only put it in two minutes ago, is exactly the sensation most business owners are living with about their actual business. Too many strands, all knotted round each other, and no clear way to tell which one you'd pull to make the whole thing come loose without making more of a mess.
That's the actual work. Not more tactics. Not another platform to be on. Just working out which strand, pulled carefully, sorts the rest.
The unofficial bit
I've got three kids, two of whom are neurodivergent, which means my mornings run on a system best described as "flexible, and also a bit of a gamble." I've got ADHD myself, so I know exactly what it's like to have a brilliant plan on paper and then get derailed by something shiny by half past ten. And I spend one day a week at my allotment, mostly failing to keep up with the slugs, which has taught me more about patience and things growing in their own time than any business book ever has. I'm not coaching you from a spreadsheet in a life that runs smoothly. I'm building a business around the same chaos you are.
Proof, briefly
I've had a client go from juggling six different offers to being fully booked two to three months out, just by getting down to the ONE thing she was already known for and saying it clearly, often, to the people already around her.
Is this you?
A quick, honest flag, since it saves us both some time: if you're still working out what you sell or who to sell it to, you're probably a bit early for most of what I write here, and that's completely fine, everyone starts somewhere.
But if you've already got clients, already got proof this works, and you're just worn out from how much effort it currently takes to keep the whole thing standing up, hello. You're exactly who these letters are for.
