- Description: Not a sales coach, not a tactics person. A plain-English answer to what a business coach for female founders actually does, and who the work is for.

When someone asks what I do, I usually say I’m a business coach for female founders, and I can see them filing me under “helps you get more clients”. It’s a reasonable guess, and it isn’t quite right, so here’s the longer answer.

I work with women whose businesses already work. They have happy clients and an offer they’ve sold before, but the whole thing depends on them pushing constantly, so a good month is followed by a quiet one and they never know which kind is coming. My job is to help build a business that holds without that push, and a business that can flex around a life they can’t predict.

### What people assume I do

Most people assume it’s about tactics: more content, a better funnel, a sharper launch. I’m not a sales coach. Sales is one part of the work, but when a founder tells me she needs more clients or more visibility, that’s rarely where the problem is. She’s usually trying to do too much, in too many directions, inside a model that was built for someone with a calmer week than hers.

### What I do instead

I find out what’s actually going on, which takes more listening than you’d think. Then we make a small number of decisions that change the shape of the business: simplifying what she sells, choosing the offer to build around, and making it work with the capacity she really has, not the one a launch calendar assumes. We simplify first, then stabilise, then systemise, so the business ends up fitting her instead of the other way round.

One client had a whole suite of offers and an unpredictable diary. We didn’t build anything new. We stripped back to the one thing she was already known for, and within three months she was booked months ahead. I wrote about [what she did](https://filter.thelucydavies.com/simplify-your-business-offers/), and I think it’s the clearest picture of the work I can give you.

### What I don’t do

I don’t tell you to post every day, I don’t hand you a template and wish you luck, and I don’t coach people who are still working out what they sell. It’s a deliberate choice. The work is built for someone who has proved the business works and now wants it to stop depending on her effort. If you’re not there yet, I’d rather say so than take your money.

### The short version

If you want it in one line: **I help established business owners build something that works without constantly pushing to keep it working**.

If that sounds like your kind of thing, [come to one of my free workshops](https://pages.thelucydavies.com/busy?ref=filter.thelucydavies.com) and we’ll take an honest look at how your life and your business are working together.
